A secure overview

BÖWE SYSTEC’s VEKtor system is a line-scan camera reading technology that is available to all high-performance systems throughout the BÖWE Group.

VEKtor is able to read and analyze all established codes (OMR, OCR, barcode, Data Matrix, etc.) as well as images, including logos and addresses. The reading technology is fully integrated both mechanically and electronically in the respective inserting system and the computer-assisted operating system BICOS via KOMPOS component control, and is operated centrally via the system screen. The line-scan camera scans the entire document and can read up to five freely definable Regions of Interest (ROIs) per page, regardless of where these are positioned in relation to one another. Several codes and different types of image can be read simultaneously.

Integration in the BÖWE One software architecture ensures that the mailing status is recorded, thus providing the basis for integrity and enhanced transparency in the mailroom. Additional quality checks at the end of the insertion process are also possible, e.g. verification of whether a logo has been printed readably and positioned correctly on the envelope. Images of the inspected envelopes can also be saved in a database, allowing them to be called up at a later date for control purposes.

JETVision is another line-scan camera reading system boasting comparable functionalities to VEKtor. Unlike VEKtor, however, JETVision can be deployed with third-party systems of any manufacturer and is simple to install retrospectively. It can be used to ensure the processing integrity of any third-party system, while allowing the entire mailroom to be centrally controlled and monitored via integration in the BÖWE One software suite – regardless of whether it operates proprietary or third-party systems.
