Four questions to Wulf Böttcher, Inserting Product Manager, about the Hunkeler Innovationdays that will take part in Lucerne from February 25 - 28, 2019.
1. What expectations do you have for your time at the Hunkeler Innovationdays?
The printing industry is changing rapidly and there’s almost nothing that reflects this better than the Hunkeler Innovationdays. As a long-term partner of Hunkeler and a finishing expert, we look forward to inspiring conversations, creative ideas and new suggestions. We’re keen to work with our visitors to identify how our innovative solutions can improve their processes still further to give them a competitive edge in their market.
2. Has the event become more important for you as the show landscape has thinned out (i.e. the closure of Cebit and Druck + Form)?
The Hunkeler Innovationdays have always been important to us because they are totally focused on production solutions, digital printing and postpress. Now, the Innovationdays have made a name for themselves internationally and have established themselves as an ideal platform for a trade public and decision makers from all across Europe, as well as America and Asia.
3. Which products/services will you be showing in Lucerne?
The show’s motto is “success with automation”, so it’s only fitting that the Fusion Cross high-speed inserting system is the centerpiece of our presence. Its unique inserting principle ensures stable production and the industry’s highest net output. Intuitive to operate, Fusion Cross systems can be networked and job changeovers take just minutes. Our Small-Batch-Processing software can bundle together and efficiently process a series of small jobs on a single roll. We will also be showing the Direct Mailer with its new inserting principle.
4. What digital printing and finishing trends will emerge in 2019?
Anyone in the industry is familiar with the problem: smaller and smaller jobs lead to changeover breaks and system downtimes. Time when the systems are not earning money. Manual work also makes production demanding, costly and error-prone. Comprehensive automation, smart networking and flexible systems are therefore the key to ensuring a future of competitive production. And our answer to these challenges? The Fusion Cross! Its high degree of automation and coherently thought out control make it simply unbeatable.
